Description

Windmill Manor Care Home is a new care home in Hurst Green, near Oxted, Surrey opened in October 2010.  Windmill Manor is part of Barchester Healthcare and accommodates 60 residents, elderly frail residential and nursing, as well as specialising in dementia in the Memory Lane community.  Registered nurses and carers are available 24 hours a day to provide the care and support that is needed.

All bedrooms are light and spacious, and are ensuite. Nurse call points in all bedrooms and TV points. Some bedrooms have their own private door onto a patio area in the garden. The ground floor comprises of a coffee bistro/cafe area for residents to socialise and entertain their guests. The lounge is light and spacious with door into the garden, as well as a kitchen to enable residents to make their own refreshments if they wish. The dining room is also spacious and has a door into the garden, with a kitchen to make refreshments, giving residents a feeling of independence.  The first floor is dedicated to our Memory Lane community, for residents with dementia.  The accommodation is spacious with a large lounge and lifestyle kitchen to enable residents to feel they are able to continue to make their own refreshments if they wish and give a sense of purpose to their day. The dining room is also spacious with a lifestyle kitchen and a door out onto the terrace patio area overlooking the garden. This is an environment where residents are able to sit and chat with other residents or family and friends.

Activities are organised every day to provide stimulation and socialisation for any residents who want to participate, but very much the choice of the resident to join in.  There are outings in the Windmill Manor minibus every week. Nutrition and hydration is very important at Windmill Manor and our chef and his team are highly trained to provide excellent food with lots of choice.

Windmill Manor is located in Hurst Green which is a lovely village with good transport links. The Hurst Green railway station is a 15 minute walk away from the home and buses stop outside the home every hour.  There is also ample parking.
