Description

We specialise in providing accommodation-based supported living, domiciliary care and enabling support to visually impaired adults with additional disabilities living in Surrey.

Our Service
Visual impairment rehabilitation, social inclusion and quality of life are fundamental to the quality services we provide.

We adopt a person-centred approach, supporting each individual to identify their own abilities, needs and goals. After an initial assessment period, a tailored support plan is created which meets the individual’s needs, reflects personal choices and enables personal outcomes to be achieved.  Plans are regularly reviewed with each person and their advocates to accommodate changing needs and aspirations.

We provide enabling support to:

• Manage a home and a tenancy including money management and accessing financial and benefits advice
• Develop daily living skills such as shopping, cooking and cleaning and assistance with personal care such as bathing
• Access integrated learning, social and leisure opportunities within the local community
• Maintain contact and relationships with family and friends
• Develop self-advocacy skills and exercise rights as a full citizen

SeeAbility Surrey Support Service aims to promote human and civil rights and equality in all its work and seeks to offer people services that are sensitive to their race, culture, religion, disability and sexual orientation.

Housing
We can offer secured housing rights through an Assured Short-Hold Tenancy in number of flats and houses in Leatherhead. These have all been designed to enable easy access for people with a visual impairment and individuals with limited mobility.

Additionally, we provide support in gaining appropriate accommodation in either shared ownership, tenancy of a housing association or private properties.

Our specialist service is provided by a highly trained and dedicated staff team. Their professional expertise in visual impairment combined with other disabilities is drawn from diverse backgrounds bringing a wealth of experience.
