Our Philosophy

 Oakhurst Court Nursing Home provides specialist care for the elderly and those with Dementia.

Our philosophy is to treat each and every individual with respect, dignity and complete understanding. We tailor our specialist dementia, and end of life care to meet our resident's needs which will of course change over time and we continually adapt to deal sensitively with individual wishes and needs.

Facilities
We offer this high quality care in beautiful surroundings. The main house, once the Lord Mayor of London's country residence has been sympathetically extended to offer a 'home from home' environment. Communal areas retain many original features, whilst there are a choice of bedrooms, most are single with en suite facilities, but we do have a number of companion rooms and we are now able to offer our luxury care suites giving individuals the opportunity to have a private living area as well as bedroom.

Our Staff
Matron leads a dedicated team of full time trained nurses, carers, activitiy organiser, housekeeping and catering staff to provide high standards of care to our residents throughout the 24 hour day. We also work very closely with other health care professionals such as our local general practitioner, dietician and St. Catherine's palliative care team in order to maintain our residents optimal physical and mental health.

Our Chef appreciates that dining is a pleasure to our residents and he tailors his cuisine to their likes and needs. He ensures that his ingredients are of the best quality and where possible local. We are able to cater to all dietary requirements and support residents to remain as independent as possible whilst offering discreet assistance as and when required.   Visitors are always welcome and actively encouraged to join their family for afternoon tea or Sunday lunch in order to maintain those precious family times together.

Life at Oakhurst
We encourage a full and active life here at Oakhurst Court where friends and relatives are always welcome and our dedicated activities co-ordinator provides a wide range of individualised activities for residents on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Religious services are also held in the Home monthly with pastoral visits available on request, whilst visiting services include a weekly hairdresser as well as a podiatrist, physiotherapist, and dentist.
