Description
Millview is a registered home in Charlwood for people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
Charlwood is a small village which is between Horley and Crawley. It has a bus service and the nearest train station is in Horley which is a five minutes drive away. There are several good pubs in Horley and cafes which the service users visit regularly.
At Millview, the emphasis is on providing a homely environment which meets service user’s individual needs.
Service users are supported to attend religious services in respect of their chosen religion.
Social Activities
At Millview, the service users have their own individual activities schedule. This includes:
- Networking between other schemes within Prospect
- BBQs
- Christmas parties
- Line dancing
- Aromatherapy
- Walking
- Meals out
- Cycling
- Meeting friends at the Horley Link Club
Service users go on holiday to destinations of their choice.
Confidentiality, privacy, dignity and choice are respected at all times. Each individual service user has their own room. Service users rooms are large enough for them to accommodate visitors and to hold their review meetings if they choose to.
All the service users who live at Millview are registered within the local GP. The other services that are available include:
- District nurse
- Chiropody
- Dentist
- Optical services
- Psychology and physiotherapy services.
These are all arranged for the service user as they need them. Staff at Millview provide service users with assistance with personal care
