Description

SeeAbility’s Denecroft is a residential home for six visually impaired adults who have a learning disability, offering a flexible service with lifestyle enhancing opportunities, based in Guildford, Surrey.

Visual impairment rehabilitation, social inclusion and quality of life are fundamental to the quality of service we provide.

We adopt a person centred approach to support each individual to identify their own abilities, needs and preferences.  After an initial assessment period, a tailored support plan is created which meets individual need, reflects personal choices and works towards achieving personal outcomes.  To ensure individual control, the plan is regularly reviewed with each person and their advocates to ensure it is responsive to changing needs and wishes.

Enabling support includes - 24 hour service, including night-time on-call emergency support,  accessing a range of day activities and learning opportunities, accessing community health care services, maintaining and developing relationships with family and friends, encouragement to work toward greater independence and support to achieve personal goals.

Denecroft is a two storey fully furnished home providing, on the ground floor, 2 single bedrooms with ensuite facilities, a communal lounge, kitchen and dining room situated in a bright conservatory overlooking the garden.  Upstairs there are 4 single bedrooms with a shared bathroom.

Our specialist service is provided by a highly trained and dedicated staff team.  Their professional expertise in visual impairment combined with other disabilities is drawn from diverse backgrounds bringing together a wealth of experience.
