Description
Ashton Manor, once the Residence of the Bishop of Winchester is a distinguished grade II listed property. It has been sympathetically extended, refurbished and adapted to provide high quality residential and nursing care.
Sitting in an elevated position beside St. Peters Church and within easy reach of Farnham Town Centre, we are treated to beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, as well as our extensive landscaped gardens.
As a Residential and Nursing Home specialising in the care of older people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia we are able to provide you with a comfortable home for life. There is no need to move on from us as your needs increase, we are able to seemlessly transition from residential to full nursing care.
Our Philosophy
Beritaz Care is a family owned Care Home Operator providing residential and nursing care for older people in our 3 Care Homes across Surrey and Hampshire. We specialise in the care of people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
We believe the success of our Homes depends on providing the level of care we would want for our loved ones. We have been successful in creating a culture in our Homes where the resident's needs and requirements come first. This ethos comes from the Owners, the Managers and through all the staff in our employment.
Accommodation
At Ashton Manor we provide majority single rooms, with one independent living cottage. All rooms have en-suite facilities, and we have specially adapted baths and showers residents can be assisted in. All rooms and communal areas have an emergency call system for safety and peace of mind.
Our large lounge and conservatory are air conditioned and offer an welcoming place in which to socialise with others. They overlook the landcaped gardens, which are easily accessible in the summer months.
Meals are served in the dining room, although residents can take meals in their room if they prefer. The Chef and kitchen staff prepare all meals on site using fresh ingredients, locally sourced where possible. Personal preferences and special dietary requirements can be accommodated.
The library and reading area offer peace and quiet in which to read a book, or the daily papers which can be delivered to the Home.
Our Hairdressing salon is used by ladies and gents alike, with our Hairdresser visiting once a week.
Life at Ashton Manor
Life at Ashton Manor is as varied as our residents want it to be. Regular activities are organised by our Activities Co-ordinator to stimulate and maintain function, particularly important for those with dementia. She organises a programme of excusions to local places of interest and gardens, as well as games, walks in the garden and Sherry mornings.
As family members or friends of residents we welcome and actively encourage you to remain part of your loved ones life, visiting is unrestricted. We welcome you to join us at special events such as the Summer Garden Party, celebrating residents birthdays or Christmas events. We produce regular newsletters to keep you up to date with what's going on.
Staff
Shawndell Barker is the Manager at Ashton Manor, and her team of qualified nurses, carers, Chef and kitchen staff, domestic and other ancillary staff.
Each member of staff is selected for their particular skills and caring qualities, all are nurtured within the ethos of putting residents first. Staff are all thoroughly vetted prior to their employment and recieve regular on going training and support to acheive National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ).
Shawndell and her team are supported by the local Gp who visits regularly, and other community practitioners who all ensure that our residents needs are met.
Other visiting services include podiatrist, optician and dentist.
This is just a taste of Ashton Manor and the quality care we provide. Shawndell would welcome your call to arrange to visit us.
