Type of Care Provided
The home is staffed 24 hours a day and the team is led by a manager that has a relevant mental health qualification. Staff support Residents in all aspects of personal care, every day living skills and psychological support, to achieve high levels of community presence and participation. Each Resident participates in their own programme of care supported by their Keyworker. This process offers a coherent framework within which the special skills of each discipline and the care staff can be harnessed and co-ordinated to meet the specific needs of each individual Resident. The concept of the multi-disciplinary team to which each discipline and professional contributes is a linchpin. The overall goal of care is to support and rehabilitate Residents with enduring mental health problems in a homely environment using a community psychological model of care. Nursing care is not provided by the staff team, any referral for nursing care would need to be delivered by the relevant community nursing team. All care staff are expected to undergo NVQ Level II and III training in health and social care.
